Default Annoying little popup (non internet type)

whenever im playing gw, i like to check and see what monsters and items are about, using ctrl and alt. now ctrl+alt+s brings up the system details such as model number, system number, etc. but when im playing gw, i tend to do this alot. it minimises gw and i have to x it out, and when i maximise gw again it causes lag. also when it minimises gw sometimes it takes a while for my start menu to reload, and i cant maximise gw again. any way to disable ctrl+alt+s?

For a bit of info all you have to press to see what is around in items and npc's it the left "alt" key, for monsters just press the left "ctrl" key. The extra key presses are possibly what are messing you up due to something else running that uses those same keypresses. Also watch out that you don't accidently press the windows key as it is in the wrong place on most keyboards.

Oddly enough, I had this problem too. You probably have a Hewlett Packard. There's a link in your Start Menu that has a shortcut for CTRL+ALT+S.

Go to Start->Programs->HP and you'll see a list of programs. One of them has something like "Product Information" or some such. Right click on that, choose Properties. There will be an option for "Keyboard Shortcut" or something, and it will show "Ctrl+S" on it. Remove that from the Shortcut list, hit OK, and you should be set.

Any problems, just ask.

Good luck

Start->Programs->HP. Right click on the programs until you see a screen like the second image. There's an option that says "Shortcut Key". It'll have "CTRL + ALT + S" in it. Erase that, and hit Okay. That should fix it.

Pictures to help:

no, that isnt it. My popup is labeled "compaq support information". i did what you did, and there was no shortcut assigned to it already. if you tell me how to get a screenshot of my screen, i can show u what the popup looks like.

Never mind, i fixed it. it was under "pc help and tools" with "Compaq support information" funny how the popup had the same name as the tab...
